How to Flash a Xilinx Controller with Recovery Firmware for Antminer S19

What you’ll need:

  1. A 16GB or smaller MicroSD card (Note: 7007 and 7010 chips will not read larger cards).
  2. A computer with a MicroSD slot or a MicroSD to USB reader.
  3. Compatible firmware from Bitmain
  1. Download the specific firmware for your ASIC miner model. In this example, we are flashing an S19 Pro, not compatible with BeagleBone Controllers. BeagleBone firmware is typically labeled “BB.”
  2. Locate and open the downloaded RAR file containing the firmware
  3. Plug in your MicroSD card into your computer and open it.
  4. Drag and drop files from the firmware folder onto the MicroSD card. Note: Etching is not required for recovery files.
  5. Safely eject the MicroSD card from your computer.
  6. Unplug your miner, insert the MicroSD card, and plug the miner back in.

Initially, both status indicator lights should be on, then off. A successful flash is indicated by a solid green light; an unsuccessful flash shows a red indicator light. If unsuccessful, try reformatting the SD card and moving the files again or use a different SD card. Once the status light is solid green, unplug your miner, remove the SD card and plug it back in.

You have now successfully flashed your XILINX controller with recovery firmware. Be sure to re-enter your pools and update to the newest version via web update. This can be found on the firmware page under the “Firmware” tab. Use the “release” file first, then use the “merge-release” file second.

You will know the firmware has successfully updated by looking at the Firmware Version at the bottom of the screen
